Hey Reader, If you're a reseller or booth owner, it's time to start getting out that fall inventory. Yes, I know school hasn't even started yet and it feels way too early. But trust me . . . In the retail world, seasons move quickly and you wanna be ahead of the game. Don't worry, you don't have to go full orange pumpkin mode quite yet! Just start transitioning away from those beachy, cool colors and start introducing some cozier vibes and textures to your space. A few easy ways to start the fall transition: π Create a "back to school vignette" with a cute child's desk, chalkboard, and sharpened pencils displays in a pretty milk glass vase π Stack up a few quilts in a hamper or basket π Ask your neighbor if you can cut a couple of her pretty hydrangea stems (or get some from your own yard if you are so fortunate!) and let them dry a few days. Then tuck inside vases or behind art on a shelf, just a subtle signal of coming fall. π Bring in vintage art that signals the fall season (think beyond just falling leaves, also hunting themed or equestrian art fits with the season). See what I mean? You don't have to go all out yet, but a few touches will freshen up your space and help signal what's in store to your customers. Reader, I can remember when I signed my first antique booth lease, now over 14 years ago. I didn't understand a lot of what it said, and wasn't sure what questions I needed to ask. It was exciting but also a bit overwhelming, if I'm being honest. I was just a mom of 3 little kids (well 2 kids and one of the way), trying to sell some fun stuff to make a little extra $$. A commercial lease was totally out of my realm of normal things I dealt with π But signing that paper ended up being one of...
