Social Media Strategies for the Vintage Reseller

Hey Reader,

I'll be honest and say I have a love/hate relationship with social media.

I enjoy being able to follow along with my high school friends over on Facebook and see what sort of decor styles are trending over on Instagram.

But I also get a bit weary of the never-ending notifications, the humble brag posts, and the wasted-time doom scrolls.

On a personal level, I could live without social media . . .

But as a business owner, it's absolutely essential.

Without social media, I probably wouldn't have a viable business, and I know so many other small, creative business owners would say the same.

It's the easiest and most effective way to advertise and build an audience, and you don't have to spend a single penny on it if you don't want to.

Used well, it can be an amazing tool. 🤗

On the blog today, I'm unpacking this a bit more and sharing 10 smart strategies for how vintage resellers (or any small business owners) can use social media to grow their customer base.

I know it's the holidays, and you may have too much going on to get your brain into business mode.

If that's you, save this email and revisit it in January 😊 I promise it will be helpful.

I hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

PS: I just discounted a bunch of stuff in the online shop, you'll find it all in the Last Call Collection here. Plus the December collection went live last week and lots of treasures are still available.

I've been buying and selling old quilts for over a decade now. But to be honest, I didn't start really appreciating them until about 2 years ago. My grandmother had a few she handed down to me, and that inspired me to dig into their history a bit more. Now they are one of my favorite things to source and provide 😊 In case you're new to the world of American quilts, I thought I would share a brief history here today. For generations, American quilts weren’t decoration, they were more survival...

Hey there Reader, Is it just me, or do you feel like everything is telling you to hurry up? We live in a world that is more fast-paced than ever. And don't get me wrong . . . I love the convenience of being able to shop for groceries on my phone while watching my kid's basketball game. Multi-tasking is a key tool for mom life, right? 🤗 But just because we can do more faster doesn't mean we always should. There's a phrase going around right now called Slow Decorating. It embraces this idea of...

Hey there Reader, I've had a lot of questions from people on my Facebook page: "Are you gonna make any more YouTube videos?" The truth is, last year YouTube was hard. Full honesty: after tech headaches and a random harsh comment, I almost quit the whole platform last year. I ended up stepping back for a few months in early fall, and that helped. When you're running a creative business, taking a break and re-drawing boundaries can be essential sometimes. I was reminded that you can protect...
