Forget Matchy Matchy

Hey Reader,

I know Thanksgiving is still a ways away, but I thought it could be fun today to start daydreaming a bit about your holiday table.

If you’ve been around here a while, you know I’m not much for “perfectly coordinated” anything, and that includes a Thanksgiving table.

This is the holiday where collected and cozy wins over Pinterest-perfect every time.

So instead of going with a matching tablescape set this year, try this instead:

1. Mix your metals. Brass candlesticks next to silver flatware? Do it. The contrast feels warm and layered.

2. Pull from your china cabinet. That stack of vintage transferware or Grandma’s floral dishes, try mixing the patterns 😊 It adds character and makes every place setting feel personal.

3. Layer the textures. Think linen napkins, an old quilt as a table runner, and a few velvet pumpkins tucked between platters.

4. Add something alive. Fresh greenery, dried hydrangeas, or even foraged leaves bring the whole thing to life, and make the mix of old and new feel intentional.

Let's make the next holiday about what welcoming family and friends with a table that's uniquely you.

Happy decorating, and even happier gathering. 🧡

Melanie :)

P.S. Wanna get started with some vintage flatware? Check out what's available in the online shop, and there's more coming soon ☺️
